SafeWork inspectors issued 50 compliance notices during targeted operations involving horticulture businesses in the Coffs Harbour and Riverina regions. Moving plant, electrical safety and hazardous chemicals were among the issues identified, with further regulatory action under assessment. SafeWork warns of rising serious incidents involving bulls
SafeWork has issued a safety alert after 10 incidents involving bulls were reported over the past 12 months, including two recent fatalities. The regulator is urging businesses to strengthen controls around livestock handling and worker separation. SafeWork offers free online farm safety training for NSW workers
SafeWork is piloting a 12-month farm safety training program offering free online AgCard training to up to 1,000 agricultural workers. The program is designed to build foundational safety knowledge while helping shape future farm safety education. The AgCard program is being promoted in NSW through a collaboration between SafeWork and Farmsafe Australia. It is designed to help farm employers and employees identify and manage workplace health and safety risks.Participants register online and receive an
