SafeWork inspectors are holding an online construction industry WHS seminar on 17 September, covering workplace safety responsibilities, risk management and common construction hazards. Attendance may also make eligible small businesses eligible for the $1,000 Small Business Rebate.
The online seminar will provide an introductory overview of workplace health and safety for the construction industry, with SafeWork inspectors presenting the session through Microsoft Teams.
Topics include WHS laws, employers’ responsibilities, risk management, safety documentation and communication, work at heights, airborne contaminants and electrical safety.
The session will also cover mental health, other hazardous work, workers compensation and return to work, followed by a safety recap and an opportunity for questions.
SafeWork says spaces are limited and is encouraging participants to register. Businesses attending the event may be eligible for the $1,000 Small Business Rebate.
The seminar provides construction businesses with an opportunity to hear directly from SafeWork inspectors on a range of WHS topics and raise questions through the online advisory format.
