Woodward Foods Australia Pty Ltd has been convicted and fined $375,000 after a worker suffered serious injuries while using a grain mill to prepare cattle feed. The Industrial Court of NSW also imposed an adverse publicity order. Woodward Foods Australia pleaded guilty to an offence under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 for failing to ensure, so far as was reasonably practicable, the health and safety of workers. SafeWork adds 27 inspectors as NSW enforcement capacity expands
SafeWork has added 27 new inspectors across metropolitan and regional NSW, including five specialists focused on psychosocial risks.
